چکیده

Using the Hubble parameter as new ‘inverse time’ coordinate (H-formalism), a new method of reconstructing the inflaton potential is developed also using older results which, in principle, is applicable to any order of the slow-roll approximation. In first and second order, we need three observational data as inputs: the scalar spectral index ns and the amplitudes of the scalar and the tensor spectrum. We find constraints between the values of ns and the corresponding values for the wavelength λ. By imposing a dependence λ(ns), we were able to reconstruct and visualize inflationary potentials which are compatible with recent COBE and other astrophysical observations. From the reconstructed potentials, it becomes clear that one cannot find only one special value of the scalar spectral index ns. Polynomial hybrid inflation.

We study a simple extension of Linde’s hybrid inflation model, with the inflaton mass term replaced by the most general renormalizable potential for φ. The unprocessed power spectrum of density perturbations can have two minima and one maximum, roughly corresponding to two steep regions separated by a somewhat flat region in V (φ). In the examples studied here, sufficient amount of inflation an...

Inflation in the nonminimal theory with ‘K(φ)R’ term

It is widely accepted that the idea of inflation [2] is the best solution to many cosmological problems such as flatness, homogeneity and isotropy of the observed universe [3]. In models of particle physics models of inflation, it took place essentially due to a scalar field, the inflaton field, whose potential is so flat that the inflaton can roll down only very slowly [4]. Under such a ‘slowr...

CDM models with a BSI steplike primordial spectrum and a cosmological constant

A class of spatially-flat models with cold dark matter (CDM), a cosmological constant and a broken-scale-invariant (BSI) steplike primordial (initial) spectrum of adiabatic perturbations, generated in an exactly solvable inflationary model where the inflaton potential has a rapid change of its first derivative at some point, is confronted with existing observational data on angular fluctuations...

Dilaton Stabilisation in D-term Inflation

Dilaton stabilisation is usually considered to pose a serious obstacle to successful D-term inflation in superstring theories. We argue that the physics of gaugino condensation is likely to be modified during the inflationary phase in such a way as to enhance the gaugino condensation scale. This enables dilaton stabilisation during inflation with the D-term still dominating the vacuum energy at...

Mimicking transPlanckian effects in the CMB with conventional physics

We investigate the possibility that fields coupled to the inflaton can influence the primordial spectrum of density perturbations through their coherent motion. For example, the second field in hybrid inflation might be oscillating at the beginning of inflation rather than at the minimum of its potential. Although this effect is washed out if inflation lasts long enough, we note that there can ...
